SLAYER Guitarist Talks About His 46th Birthday Celebration
June 9, 2010Dasding conducted an interview with guitarist Kerry King of SLAYER last week when the California thrashers played at the Rock Am Ring festival in Nürburgring, Germany. Watch the chat below.
According to Rock Hard magazine, last night's (Tuesday, June 8) SLAYER concert at Ruhrcongress in Bochum, Germany was cancelled due to "acute vocal problems" suffered by the band's frontman, Tom Araya. The rest of the dates on the band's current European tour will proceed as scheduled.
SLAYER had to postpone a slew of live dates recently due to Araya's treatment for severe back pain, an occupational hazard for the rocker who is known for aggressively swinging his long mane of hair while performing. A surgical procedure in January corrected the problem once and for all, and he reportedly felt better almost immediately.
On May 26, SLAYER kicked off a European tour which is scheduled to include several Sonisphere festival appearances where the band will be part of the "Big Four" — METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH, and ANTHRAX. The group will return to North America in late July to co-headline (with MEGADETH) the east coast Canadian Carnage tour, and then, starting August 11, the American Carnage tour.
